Pomegranate Molasses Dressing tastes like a more exotic and thicker version of Balsamic vinaigrette! Hailing from the Middle East, it’s made with pomegranate molasses which is like balsamic syrup – thick, syrupy, sweet and tangy. This dressing can be kept for weeks, and pairs exceptionally well with roasted vegetables.
If you want to impress the pants off your friends and family with a fancy but easy sounding salad, try this Pomegranate Molasses Dressing! Pomegranate Molasses is probably not the sort of condiment that most people have just lying around in the pantry, but once you pick up a bottle, you can rest assured it lasts for aaaaages. So there’s no hurry to use it.
But really, once you discover it, you may just want to put it on everything! It’s like balsamic syrup. Thick and syrupy, tangy and sweet. You can even use it just plain, drizzled over salads with some olive oil.
Today, I want to share a Pomegranate Molasses Dressing. Something a little bit different, particularly delicious used on all manner of roasted vegetables. I’ve used it to make something a little different – a quick healthy dinner bowl with Roasted Pumpkin, a Kale and Broccoli Slaw and Browne Rice, drizzled with this Pomegranate Molasses Dressing.
I wanted to show you how it can be used to transform what would otherwise be considered a fairly ordinary bowl into something that sounds, looks and tastes so incredible! Plus super fast too if you use pre cut vegetables like I did. I used the David Jones pre cut pumpkin and Kale and Broccoli Slaw <– Seriously in love with this in particular. I’ve never shredded broccoli in my life. SO GOOD!
Oh – I got a bit fancy pants and topped it off with pomegranate seeds. Because I just happened to have one in the fridge, and it just looks so pretty!
This Pomegranate Molasses Dressing keeps for weeks in the fridge, so it’s great for making a big batch to have on standby. It would probably be fine without refrigerating, but it has mustard in it which I refrigerate. So I keep this in the fridge just to be safe. – Nagi x

Everyone who tried it, loves it. The fact it can be kept for 3 weeks is a positive.
I bought some pomegranate concentrate (molasses) when I came across it at the grocery mart inspired by a delicious meal I’d recently had at a Persian restaurant – but then it sat for months because I really didn’t know what to do with it! Your recipe was delicious. I subbed for stone ground mustard (personal preference) and sugar (what I had on hand) and served over a salad with walnuts, green apple slices, and feta. Yummy!
This salad dressing is divine! So yummy I could eat it by the spoonful. I was all out of red wine vinegar so I subbed apple cider vinegar instead which worked fine. Thanks for another amazing recipe Nagi!
I had to make some changes but still ended up with a delicious salad dressing. I had a small bottle of pomegranate sauce that has been in the cabinet for years. I’m not sure if pomegranate sauce is the same as pomegranate molasses, but it was thick, sweet, and tangy. I also didn’t have red wine vinegar but with the tang of the sauce I didn’t want to overwhelm it with another vinegar so I used red wine (cab. sauv.). For the honey I used raw honey. All other ingredients were as indicated. I had doubled everything and whisked the sauce vigorously to emulsify the oil. I tasted the dressing and was blown away. I tend to prefer thick creamy dressings but this recipe will definitely be used again.
Thanks for this delicious dressing recipe, Nagi! And, thanks to commenter, Sue, for the yummy salad idea – making it for company with this dressing we all love!
I’m an idiot and forgot to leave a eating on my last comment.
This is lovely. I had a couple of pitas that were in danger of going stale, so I turned them into pita chips (olive oil+salt) and had them on the salad along with a sprinkle of sumac.
Wow! I had some pomegranate molasses to use, and came across your recipe – all I can say is WOW! This is amazing! I have a farro salad recipe, and I used your dressing instead of the one that it came with, and this took it to a whole other level! I am saving this and sharing it. Thanks for posting this. Love it!
Amazing salad dressing!!! Never comment on recipes but this is exceptional! My new obsession—just amazing!
So good, it was delicious on my autumn salad with apples, pecans, pomegranate seeds, pumpkin seeds and romaine lettuce. Thank you!
I bought pomegranate molasses today specifically to make this dressing and wow, it was definitely worth it!
I made this with date syrup and it is so yummy😋 I served it with a whole roasted cauliflower! Thanks Nagi for another delicious recipe 💗
I just bought pomegranate molasses thinking it was sweet but then discovered it’s like a less bitter balsamic. So I needed some recipes, Googled and found this. Thank you, it’s delicious!
Nice salad, only issue is getting pomegranate molasses out of bottle
Simple Salad- spinach, baby cucumbers, grated carrot, cherry tomatoes, topped with goats cheese, pomegranate seeds, plus a few pepitas, sunflower seeds and pistachios and this dressing! Absolutely divine.
I made this using only the first 3 ingredients. For me it was perfect just like that. I wouldn’t have added a thing.
Wow this is so tasty and goes well with smoked duck salad
Yum!!! Love that idea Dominic! N x
Whenever I make this for friends, they are wowed!
Hello Nagi,
I took this dressing away camping for 6 days. It elevated my salads to a whole new level. This is now a firm favourite. Many thanks.
This dressing is so tasty – it’s become my favorite vinaigrette! I boiled down bottled Pom juice (on sale) for the molasses. Makes me want to eat salad more often, which is a good thing. 🙂
